Default INTEGRA TYPE R vs new CIVIC SI

I've always loved ITR's and have been saving my money for some time. It's now time for me to consider buying a new car. The problem that I have is the ITR has such a high theift rate. I went and test drove one of the new Civic Si's and fell in love with the Type R inspirted interior and the 197hp K20. After test driving it was was surprised that it felt faster than the stock ITR's that I drove, had pretty good tourqe and gets over 32mpg...I still want to own an ITR but at this point I don't know if I could keep it safe.

Why does this come back to the top if no one is posting in it?

the new SI is very nice esp the 2 door i got in one the other day and damm that shifter is like rowing a boat!!! very long throws. As a very lucky type R owner for 3 years i say go for the R the prices are coming down and it will cost u big money to get that Si to handle like the R believe me i have already spend $2000 on my STI to get it to where the stock R was!!! i will have an R again thats for sure but im so addicted to BOOST im in a haze right now.

Heh-heh, if you're not ready to have nightmares about your R getting stolen, I'd get something else.

I am curious about this comment. What did you not like about the FG2's handling that you wanted to change it, and what did you do about it?

The FG2 could be a bit stiffer in the corners I thought. With that corrected though i don't see any reason why it would not compete well against a ITR.

Let me just chime in. I love both cars about the same. I have driven both and own an 07 Si now. The only reason I would get a type r is so that I could pocket the extra cash left over after selling the Si to pay off my credit card. They are both equal performers in my eyes. The Si seems to have more power and responds better to bolt ons. The type r looks much better though, weighs less, and is just sexy rare. There you go, I love both the same, but would stick with or get an Si for those reasons plus warranty.

i have the 07 si. but i always wanted a type r. everything about it i just love. if it was my choice...i would get the type r. but for what it is...brand new car...resale is not that bad....clean interior...sleek looking. the si is where its at. the throws are not that long imo. and i've driven both cars btw. hope this helps
