Are you using a P13 or P14(I forget what the h22 ecu is)? Is it wired up correctly? Check the vtec solenoid and make sure it is good shape and clean it out if need be. Do you have enough oil?

If someone spells VTEC wrong and someone has already corrected them, I don't think we need any other posts about it. They made a mistake, they were corrected, end of story.

to answer your question, you should check a few things first.

1) Are you running the stock prelude P13 ECU?
2) Was the proper wiring harness used/was the Vtec wired in to begin with?
3) is the vtec solenoid connected?
4) Is the sufficent oil in the engine, and is the oil any good?

Check these things first, as they are usuially the most common problems.
If all these things are in proper working order, then you may need to look into other possible problems. I worked on an Integra GSR one time, and the oil switch was reading low, when the level was up, so the ECU wouldent engage the vtec untill the pressure was high enough. Replaced the sensor, and it worked fine.

Lots of probably causes, but start with the most basic/common ones, and let us know how it goes.

I your are asking is the oil in the motor level is good, then yes. Or is there a seperate spot for the VTECH OIl.
They rewired it twice to make sure and test drove it for 20mins. Check engine light did not come on. I drove it for 20...when it was working felt in 4500rmp or 5000rmp. To see how the VTECH works after second run check light came on. Thought the motor was bad but the motor itself sound quite and runs pretty good. Could it be the fact i still have the accord tranny instead of the h22?

Well one thing is for sure , is the transmission has nothing to do with your problem . F or h series transmissions do not affect this, and if your not getting the vtec after it was working . Also you might have another issue causing the vtec not to work , the vtec needs the mph, rpm, map, tps, and something else thats on the tip of my tongue . Wellanyway . if one of the five isnt working the vtec isnt going to work , It needs to read those five to work, So say your rpm guage isnt working , well then you have no vtec. But if your not getting a check engine light then it sounds like you might not have enough oil pressure. Or a wire might be messed up . I would keep taking it back to the person that preformed the swap and tell them to fix it . Theres no way you could have mucked it up unless your under the hood playing with things. Man thats bothering me what th fifth thing was that the ecu needs to read for the vtec. mph, rpm, cps, tps, map . there you go

darn i was just about to pull a typical HT move, and post a pic of a telephone

regarding the question at hand, since you said that vtec worked, but then doesn't work after throwing a CEL, i would pull the CEL and then report back. this will help narrow down your problem.

yes if the ecu is not getting a VSS signal, it will not engage vtec, so that is quite possible that the VSS is the culprit in ur situation

thanks man. We already checked the VSS manual by hooking it up to another car and turning it with a drill, and it worked fine. So we figured that the VSS is ok, but that was before i got the manual ECU coded to the keys. Tommorrow i will trouble shooting some more. thanks again man...anything else would be greatly apprceiated... and yes i suck at spelling.
