potential swap/project help me out
intro: im hoping to get myself an ef sedan tomorrow for the low low price of FREE, all i know about the sedan at this point is that its a manual trans. i didnt ask much all i needed to hear is that it was manual and rust free.
so i wanted to do a summer project, get myself a 3k personal loan and throw it all into the sedan.
Im deffinately a novice.
what im hoping on doing is getting myself a b18b from hmotors and sourcing out a good cable tranny
now before i get anything i need to make a list of what all i need to make this swap successfull.
b18b motor
any b series cable tranny
conversion mounts
hasport shift linkage (any other companies make them cheaper?)
pr4 ecu
conversion harness
and of course the normally worn items: water pump, clucth, timing belt, thermostat, and what not
do i need stock integra ls axles or do i need to buy hasport axles?
please add or correct anything i need to make this successfull, ill most pics and more info on the sedan as soon as i have them.
thanks everyone

use DA integra axles
find a y1 or ys1 tranny $250-$400 without LSD(trust me, you dont want LS)
learn to do the wiring yourself cause its much more satisfieing and not that hard just take your time and stay organized
hasport makes good adjustable linkage but you can cut down DA linkage to work just fine.
for a sedan and for you my friend.

i dont think i want to try my hand at welding with something that important...
where would you suggest looking for a y1 or ys1 tranny?
i dont even know what LS means...
is it a hydro or cable tranny? i dont think i want to mess with switching to hydro...
i found a US Integra B18A A1 5spd Cable Transmission, would that work well for me?

I went to see the car today... not in too great of condition... but it will suit my plans.
its the sedan burghendy color, with a bike roof rack, and burghendy interior
the exhaust is all rusted out, minor rust on rear quarters, all panels are in pretty good elignment, new breaks, newer tires, one tire flat, engine running on 3 cylinders, 5 speed, its either an 88 or 89, someone must have backed into the driver side doors because both have a good size dent in them...
its a pretty ugly car... but looks arent the purpose of this car anyway. not sure if ill get new doors at a junk yard and fix the rust of just leave it... i figure ill do the motor swap 1st and then if i feel like it ill clean up the body.
im going to call him later this week if nothing else comes up for cheap and ill probably have it by this weekend
