Default Euro R swap into 2000 Prelude. having problems

So I swapped a euro r h22a into my 2000 prelude(previous engine spun a bearing). Anyways, the car starts up and runs but it's missfiring. I'm not sure why. It would run fine at first but the cel light would flash when i would drive it but would stop when i was at a stop light/sign.

I'm running the usdm h22 fuel rail. starter, and wire harness. I'm using the euro r fuel injectors and distributor. I dunno if this affects anything but i pulled one of the wires from the icm in the h22 dist and put it in the euro r dist so my tach would work. but when the lude missfires the tach would start going crazy

Initially i was running the usdm h22 ecu. I just got an ecu from phearable.net and it still missfires. If anything it seemed like it ran worse. I'm assuming i would have to use an obd1 distributor and fuel injectors with that ecu?

spark plug wires are about 1.5 years old.
spark plugs are only 2-4months old.

Any help/advice/recommendations would be much appreciated.

I just did this swap into my 97 prelude a few weeks ago. I have no cels but Im running on handata s200.First off fix the wire that you cut, put the harness back to stock, andfcheck over all of your grounds. Heres what I had to swap over from my old motor to make it work right with no cels. You need the usdm distributor and coil, oil pump with the crank sensor and both the timing sprocket and balance belt sprocket that go on the crank from your usdm motor. You need the whole housing with the v-tec selanoid and the sensor in it from the usdm and swap it over to the euro-r. Complete all of these tasks and then see if you still missfiring. Hope that helps you out, let us know when you get it fixed or not fixed. Even after all of this with asdm computer that is for a motor that has lower comp and makes less power you may nead at the least a vafc to make it run proper.

All my grounds are connected. I'm in the process of switching over the oil pump so i can use the usdm crank sensor and distributor.

now when you talk about the sprockets, are you talking about the 2 that are behind the crank pulley?

Yeah you need to use both of the ones behind the crank pulley from your usdm motor becuase they are what the crank sensor reads. The ones on the Euro-r wont work with the usdm sensor thats why you gotta switch them.

I pulled my intake off and dremeled out the injector holes to use some rc440 injectors. You should be fine with the stock euro-r injectors though, that way you dont have to modify anything. What iac are you using, did you get the adapter to use the usdm iac?? If you dont have one yet get a hold of Rosko on here he sells them or you can use blacktrax.net they have them as well.

The JDM IACV has 3 tubes. The one that goes to the back of the engine, what did you do with it? cap it off?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Hawkze_2.3 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">What was the CEL for?</TD></TR></TABLE>

initially the CEL would flash which means that it's a misfire bad enough to damage the cat. when it finally stayed on, i got the codes for misfiring, p0300-p0304...

aiite well i guess it was the ecu. i plugged in the obd1 ecu that i got from phearable.net and the car, so far is running beautifully.

only problem is that she idles at 1.5k - 1.7k rpm. probably cuz i have the 2 wire iacv plugged in but not bolted on. i'm still waiting on the adapter to come in and i have a brand spanking new iacv to put on (previous one needed to be replaced even before the swap). hopefully that'll bring my idle down to normal.

Glad to hear that everything worked out for you. Once you get your iacv figured out your idle should be all good. You should put that thing on a dyno and see what it puts down, is it stock??
