There's a 1990 Civic Si for sale locally I'm kinda interested in buying....the only problem (besides rust) is that it's an automatic.

I've done a bit of research and from what I've gathered is that the 1990 Si only came with a manual transmission. Other ads I've noticed though for 1990 Si's have also said they're automatics....was it only a Canadian option? (all sources have been US sites) Or are these people just trying to sell a basic model Civic with an Si badge on the back?

I'd just like some clarification. I haven't had a chance to go look at it yet though so I don't have any more info than that.

I know for a fact in Canada the Si was offered in Automatic.

I've done a auto to 5spd swap on one before. Easy job. I do them for cheap and I even gather the parts normally. I found a sweet yard full of EFs.

 

They are rare but do exist in Canada, i was in one last year at an auction, but didn't want an AT for myself.

 

To make sure go check it out and see if it has the si options/motor.
