so i have a 99 em1 with a b18c1,i/h/e,im going to be putting in my ctr cams and skunk2 intake manifold,also i have a obd1 p72,now i know theres no such thing as 2nd vtec.but id just like some information on what inital sound/what it does,i heard something that the butterflys open or something,i was just wondering if thats just for show or it does anyhting,becuase with the new intake manifold i heard you dont get that,so i guess its not important? thanks alot guys,im not trying to get flammed,just trying to learn

vtec will always be heard regardless of what intake you have. the only time ive heard of the sound going away is when in some cases you use boost
