Let me start by saying my 200 FBP ITR was stolen after I had it for 6 weeks, so my insurance company wouldn't be anxious to buy me a 3rd one (I now have PY 00-1374). Anyway, I live in NY (Long Island) and am possibly getting a job in the city for the next 3 months. First my analysis, then the question that I need you guys to answer to prove my point:
Analysis: After being home for 2 weeks (I have been in DC for a year where the car was garaged and not driven except for weekends) I have been pulled over twice and harssed over stupid things that suddenly weren't ticketable after I mentioned to the cop I am about a year away from being an attorney. In Brentwood NY this afternoon, I was aprroached by countless ricers on the road, asked by two guys if I wanted to the "hook that car up," and then saw a stripped GSR that had been more or less dumped about 200 yards away from the LIE. The rice scene is obviously alive and well.
Question: Knowing how coveted these ITR's are by thieves, how long do you think a PY one would last at a Long Island Railroad Station if I were to leave it there while I went into the city? I already know the answer, but am trying to prove to others I am not competely paranoid about the car getting swiped. Thanks.

2 weeks ?
I say less than 7 days
You must have a lot of cash to burn if you really plan to do that

Yeah .... don't trust it. Less than a week garanteed!
And to think when I first bought my R, I parked it in the village many times for hours at a time. Never had a problem. I guess that was b4 peeps knew what an ITR was.
Defintely get a 1500 beater. There is no sense loosing a car just so you can commute back and forth. Goodluck

Well, a sting is a nice call. Of course, I know thieves that roam the board have already seen this thread. To them I say eat a dick. I'm not dreaming of leaving the car at any station, this thread is to prove a point. I will catch one of you low lifes one day, and unless you have a nice weapon with you, look the f#@k out. I would love nothing more to make you suffer, and I know enough about the law to get away w/ it. I hope you all die in hell. To the loyal ITR owners out there who want a sting operation, I am totally down with it except for one thing. Don't want to use my car

My advice,DON'T DO IT,you should give the car away if your gonna leave it parked there.I just got followed home in my GSR by a pack of ricers the other day,not to far from NYC.They were all thugged out,I couldnt tell if they wer trouble or not I just didn't want them to follow me home and see where I live.Believe it the NYC are has lots of scum and an R has little to no chance of being un attended.
NYC=THIEF TRAINING CAMPS
NJ=THIEF TRAINING CAMPS
WE NEED TO DROP SOME AIR POWER ON THESE 2 BIT LOW LIFE THIEFS.
I don't want you to park it there because I would hate some junky *** scum bagg thief to get it.if they get it,thats another thief that won
we can't stop thiefs all together,but us TEG owners cannot give these cars away.

Arm your car with explosives...if anyone tries to break into it...well...you know. At least you'll catch one thief!
On the flip side, your car will get blown up, but hell if it gets stolen you won't have it anymore anyways.
disclaimer: I dont advise using plastic explosives nor take any responsibility if you do go that route...im just giving a suggestion...do whatcha like.
