i believe i drove that yellow SI.... let me dig up some pics. if its the same one, Honda borrowed it for.... Hot Import Nights i think? I drove all the cars in and parked them in hondas booth. Luxury of being a Tradeshow Installer........

 

it was SEMA. few years ago. All these pics were tooken during the setup of the show. The first one was the official "show ready" time. You can see the yellow SI in the bottom left corner. I didn't get to mash out on a straight away, but i can tell you, its one very fast car. fastest of the pics below.

im sitting on top of the truss you see running along the right, i think i was 22 hours into my shift that night. your welcome honda!!



Some more cars i pulled in. They didn't know how to start the orange one, its a full on circuit car, so when i jumped in, turned the gas switch on from the dash, they handed me the keys to all the other cars and asked me to go pull them all in.



a all MUGEN NSX. The head guy told me this car was to be crushed after the show, just how it is. Something about there not allowed to have the parts, sell the parts, sell the car or keep the car. must, by contract..... be crushed. i nearly drove home in it instead.....

fish-eyes are an easy way to make any photos look proffessional. almost no matter what conditions........

in my first photo, behind the yellow car is "circuit works" booth. tiny booth.
Anyways, we had one of there intake things on the element you see there. MMMAN, this car was SooOOoOOOooo LOUD! it idled high, sounded like a hardcore drag car with the loud poping noise and everything. My dad (he works with me too sometimes) thought that it would be the easy car, so he decided to try and drive it in.... soon as he started it he got scared, you could tell. it was way to loud and fast for him, he just got out and said expletive it. he thought it was broken. he's only used to his harleys being that loud. i knew it was fine on the other hand, so i drove it in. once i got into the convention, i through like 20 mean *** revs, had every worker in there stopping to come see what it was. when they saw that it was an element, they started laughing....... hah.

Thats such a stupid contract... biggest waste of money, time, effort and good craftsmanship just because they aren't allowed to keep the parts.. at least ship it back. GHEY

 

yeah, trust me, i asked every possible question there was. and bottom line is, no one gets to keep it.

i even asked, why not ship it to the next show and only show it? alls he could say was.... its just what "they" want. somethign about the parts... somethign about this and that.... there was plenty of reasons, i dont remember......
