1. refer to number three

2. i've seen guys stretch tires onto rims wider than you can imagine.

3. .....your car sits higher therefore alignment isn't to spec. but i don't see it affecting ride that much.......i'm running 65 series and i have no prob with alignment.

The tire should fit fine. Your alignment will not be affected in any way, even though the car will sit just a bit higher (I doubt you will notice it).

Guys... notice he said 185/65.

The car will sit about 2.75 mm higher. That's about 1/8 inch.

The new tires should work fine, including the alignment. Your speedometer/odometer may be off by a VERY small amount.

The DISCOUNT TIRES DIRECT website offers advice on sizes under TIRE DIMENSIONS MADE SIMPLE.

so the width of the rim doesn't matter the tire width can be strength? i thought going with a smaller width would leave gaps between the lip of the rim and the sidewall/bead of the tire.. i guess thats when the air comes to play huh?

You're talking about a small change in width. You've got a long way to go before it's as bad as the picture accordcd_7 posted.

Check tirerack.com - they have specifications of tires, including the range of rim widths that are OK with a particular size tire.
