Default what is my crx??

It's a 91 crx hf 5 speed. I want to know if it is MPFI or DPFI??? I thought is was MPFI but some one told me it was DPFI. Just wanted to know for sure. Because kinda did some looking around for engine swap to a D series z6/y8 and it says you'll need to convert to OBD1 for vtec?? Otherwise it'll be a straight drop in swap correct? Let me know thanks!

still NOOB as well as trail user but it's the stock engine....I'm sure...and from the pics you have YEAH it's the 1st one so it is MPFI as i though..haha dumb guy told me wrong..I told him it's a stock HF! So a z6 or y8 swap should be easy right, no converting to OBD1 or whatever right? Or do I still have to do some wiring for vtec? Looked at the Rywire<--sp? it's only if it's a DX right? Thanks!

You would either have to use the PM6 SI ECU with a Vtec controller, along with the A6 distributor OR just do an OBD1 conversion. Either way, your going to have to do some wiring.

exactly what he said ^^^

i have never done a mini-me swap, but i beleave either process he mentioned are equilly difficult, also many people prefer obd-1 for its easier to map and what not.

also might be cheaper to convert to obd-1 that to buy a vtec controller, never priced, but im guessing it would be

Yeah it depends on what he wants to do with the car. If he plans on boosting, OBD1 is really the only way to go IMO. If he would like a setup that could be quickly converted back to stock, staying OBD0 would be the wise choice.

I'd reccomend just taking your time, and swaping to OBD1.

damn kinda thought it'll be a little more easier/simple having the MPFI at first. Wait with what you said the stuff I would need is that for a head/block swap or a total engine swap? I guess I should've said I'm looking at a complete z6 or y8 swap engine+tranny+ecu and etc. everything out of whichever engine I get lucky with and with me having the mpfi in the first place would make it a bit easy? Think I might be confused or lost at this because I'm reading poeples post and don't know if they have a head/block swap (minie me<--?) or whole engine swap which is what I want because I don't like the hf tranny. Drives like granny Anyways thanks

if yer on a budget like me you can use an msd rpm switch to trigger the vtec.
you can switch out different pills to trigger it at different rpm i got mine at 4500

Damn engine was beat but I don't know if it'll get to that where it'll blow but it blows!

NO don't want that (trigger swtich for vtec) NOT lOOKING for a mini-me swap looking for complete z6 or y8 swap. Just want the whole engine/tranny upgraded to something a little newer

your talking about if I do a whole complete swap right? Well if so I guess I kinda know that. But with any complete swap don't you have to already need to get new axles anyways? Though do CRX have axles/boots? Last time I looked I don't remember seeing any...?Though if I do the complete swap don't I just use the z6 or y8 axels and everything? or would I have to try to get some crx Si one, a bit stronger? anyways let me know thanks. COMPLETE swap NOT mini-me swap
