OBDO B16 Clutch Pooched - Hard Install? How do these 1/2shafts remove?
In my 90 DX hatch Ive got a obdo b16a. My clutch is gone and I bought a new one today.
Ive pulled motors before only d16's and ive never tried to pull a tranny alone.
Ive never seen axles like are on my car, I guess they call them 1/2 shafts or something? How are they removed? What is necessary to come out?
Easiest quieckest way of doing this alone? Have to do it in my driveway without a tranny jack or anything
Id love any walkthrough help or suggestions
Thanks guys

Undo suspension, pull both driveshafts. Undo 3 14mm bolts and remove half shaft like it was a driveshaft.
Unbolt eveyrthing going to the tranny, drop tranny let engine mount alone. Undo tranny from engine. Remove clutch.
Go backwards from there. Really easy to do. Only hard part is getting the tranny back on, get a friend to help you out. Put a jack under the tranny and lift it into position, then move and wiggle it onto the new clutch.

I dont have any spare hands on a monday morning when I plan on doing this, and Ive only got one jack lol
I dont get how the axles work on these motors though.
I know on my Crx, you pull apart both sides of the suspension and they simply pry out of the trans, I dont get where the break points are on this motors assembly

Not a simple operation when doing it alone and with limited tools
Im looking for the easiest way to do things, quickest
And I dont understand how the 1/2 shafts work and come out.

They work exactly the same as d-series axles, only with an extra shaft thats bolted into the back of the block. The only difference is gonna be unless you have DA front forks the axle wont fit through them so you have to unbolt the fork to get it out.

Just add me to MSN and I'll guide you as much as I can. It's really not that hard but you will need to get some real tools and a spare set of hands.
I did a clutch swap myself on my old SOHC ZC. I'm not a big guy but I can lift a fair bit, and it was a pain in the *** to throw the tranny back on. I ended up calling up my brother to help me throw the tranny on. One lifts and holds, the other wiggles and pushes.
I don't like the sound of 'limited tools' nor 'one jack'. You weren't planning on pulling your tranny of with the car on a jack did you? Cause if you did, then you deserve to have the car fall on your head.

Um yeah.... jack up the car and put it in stands. Unbolt everything and use the jack as support to move it a few inches away form the the motor and swap the clutch and throwout bearing
just did this yesterday. i did it myself but i have an engine hoist to hold the motor up while i drop the trans on and lowered it down on the jack and rolled it out, your cars got to be up high on stands though.change clutch roll jack with tranny on back underneath car and jack it up and slide it on. the halfshafts are easy, you just got to crawl under and do it to see, remove bothe axles, remove 3 14mm bolts and halfshaft slide right out
