Default Welding hardtop onto the car?

Has anyone welded a hardtop onto the car for track purposes?

im a welder and i wouldnt want to do it.... it will be a hard project to attack since the HT is aluminum and the materials have different properties between the HT and car sheet metal. plus you would have to go slow/low heat to prevent warping/destortion

why not just get a custom roll bar, so you can still utilize the open air experience.....

i miss the open air feeling... i see converts now driving with the tops down in this great SOCAL weather and HATE THEM

thats a big no. it would have to have a solid frame all around the hardtop. too much work to look like ****.

dont mean to thread jack or anything, but has anyone ever t-topped or targa topped their hardtop? its not practical, but just curious to see how it would look

latches = metal

latches are bolted to the hardtop.
