Default Where is the coolant temperature sensor on a 96 accord ex?

I want to replace my coolant temperature sensor, but I am not sure where it is located.
Can anyone tell me or show me a picture of where it is and how I can replace it?
I am replacing it because my car is overheating.
Again the car is a 96 accord ex

If you are talking about the coolant temperature switch which turns on the cooling fan when it gets too hot, then it is number 16 in that picture. It is located on the thermostat housing near the back of the engine, connected to the lower radiator hose.

Honda Part No. 37760-P00-004

Are you sure you are overheating because of the switch, or are you referring to the thermostat? The thermostat is located inside the thermostat housing.

tech8 I am pretty sure it is the sensor, I have been reading posts by people who have the same problem as me and most of the time the sensor was the fix
I also changed my thermostat before I did any research online, but that didn't help

and thank you accordcd_7 for the fast reply, I just successfully changed the sensor an hour ago and will be checking if the car still overheats tomorrow

Turns out it was not the sensor
I want to try the temp switch now, but do not know which one to get

Duralast / Temperature Switch TU188 w/ Lights

or

Duralast / Temperature Switch TU121 w/ Gauge

Those parts are on AutoZone

OK, here goes again... (I've written this a few times before)

In that parts diagram...
#19 is the temperature sensor for the ECU - it doesn't control the fans
#16 in the thermostat housing switches the fan while the engine is on
#18 in the upper hose nozzle switches the fan after engine shut off
#15 is the 1-wire sender for the dashboard gauge

None of these sensors talk to each other.
The ECU doesn't share information with the fan switching logic.
The Duralast TU121 looks like the sender for the dashboard gauge, which has NO ABILITY to control or switch anything.

edit... #23 was just the little O-ring. The fan switch is either #16 or #17 depending on what car. That diagram is shared among a couple different engines.

Does it overheat while driving? Or only when stopped idling - stuck in traffic?

When you drive 15mph or more, that pushes PLENTY of air thru the radiator. No need for the fans to run. If it overheats in this situation, first replace the thermostat. Since you've already done that, next you have to check whether your radiator is obstructed, or coolant has big air pockets, or things like that.

That really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Have you checked your coolant level ?

I would check if the fan is wired correctly, if you walk in front of the car and can feel air pushing outward, then your fans wired backwards.
