Default Light-weight Flywheel

Whatsup ya'll. I came across what seems to be a deal..

The description: Light-weight flywheel for 1990-2004 Honda Civic. The flywheel is ultralight, weighing only 8.5lbs and is made from 100% billet chrome-moly steel.

I use my car as my DD, and for $100 I was thinkin about pickin this up.
My car would just rev faster, correct? Would this make the car a tiny bit quicker?

Apparently it's made by 'F1 Racing', anybody heard of these?

8.5 pounds is going to absolutely kill your torque, that's an extremely light flywheel. The idea behind it is that there is less rotational mass, thereby reducing "pumping losses" and utilizing the power the engine creates more efficienctly.

I'd honestly hold off, I wouldn't go lighter than 11 pounds, especially on a DD.

I read somewhere that the whole torque-kill thing was a myth? Lemme do some research....

BTW it's made by GripForce. Dunno how reliable they would be, all over eBay but not too known on the rest of the web.

I would NOT go as light as 8.5 lbs.

I ran a 12 lber's on my CRX with a b18a, and that was fine.

It will kill the daily driveability of your car, and give u less than impressive results.

Unless u are boosted, or have a modded K there is no reason to get a lighter fly.

Please elaborate, I am trying to understand exactly 'why' going this light-weight is a bad thing.

Got a link 4 me?

A lightened flywheel causes your engine to rev faster. And on the opposite side, allows it to lose RPMs faster. Its just a PITA to DD when your RPMs drop so quickly between gears and during launch. Plus you want to keep your RPMs up on a d17, cause the peak of the powerband is not down at 2500RPM.
