Bad tranny or bad clutch? 1993 Civic w/ B16A swap
Maybe you guys can actually help me out so I can determine whats wrong with my 93 EX sedan with a B16A swap.
Driving home from my girlfriends house 2 days ago, get on it a bit...shift 1-2 is fine...shift from 2-3 and it goes to hell. Clutch is completely depressed and it grinded. Ever since...even after replacing the slave cylinder and flushing the hydraulic system, its extremely hard to get into gear (ONLY SOMETIMES), theres times where i drive it and its like butter, then theres times where it grinds going into gear or it just refuses to go in.
Also, ever since that night Ive had lots and lots of clutch chatter starting the car from a stop in 1st gear.
Ive already dropped the tranny and bought a new Comp Clutch kit and some new axles. Just wondering what you thought it was.

Sounds like one or more of the disk cusion springs has come out of its pocket and is keeping the clutch from fully disengaging, causing the clutch to drag.
Transmissions usually do not fail "all at once" they tend to go bad over time getting progressively worst till the whole thing locks up.

after closely examining the clutch disc and the shop floor...i found a piece of the clutch disc that surrounds the springs was broken off and had worn a groove into the pressure plate. So its not my tranny evidently...thank god.
