Default Charcoal Canister question

Im getting a fuel smell from my engine bay lately, not near the fuel injectors but near the canister or fuel filter, no visible fuel, I pulled the canister up and the bottom hose wasnt attached to anything, is this correct? it was just floating around, where does it attach to? I dont see anything! Thanks

thats the vent hose...it should go from the bottom of the cannister to the fenderwell. that is most likely where your fuel smell is coming from
