Difference in auto and manual H22?

Default Difference in auto and manual H22?

Sorry guys stupid question-

doing a h2b swap in my civic and i have a guy who has an H22 but its off an auto prelude. what is the differnce in a motor that was matted to a manual tranny or one that was with an aut trans? any HP difference?

I didn't think there is any difference, at least power wise. But seriously, don't rock a h22 with an auto tranny, its disrepectful.

Same exact motor, but be sure to get a Base and not an SH motor

There must be some difference in the ECU tuning or something else. Honda rated the auto at slightly lower power. 5-10 iirc.

That would most likely be it.

People have said that the cams are slightly different, there is no evidence of that though, honestly I doubt it.

haha i would never use the auto trans ....

just dont want to buy the motor that was off an auto car and realize it was a waste of money....

so basically there is no difference in the motors? and the 5-10hp loss was mainly the tuning and the trans ??

more like honda said that because the auto sucks up so much ACTUAL hp..

some dyno's of stock h22's show almost 20hp difference

USDM performance wise, the only difference is with the SH motor. Little more lift on the cams and different valve spring heights.

auto has a smaller throttle body from what i have heard and read on ht. and auto is in better shape cause of lower redline....

i'm pretty sure they're all 7400.. is the fuel cut earlier?
