Automatic Transmission Question
I just put a new tranny in my 01 coupe. The new tranny did not have the sensor that is on the far right side of the trans (it's on the very edge on the outside surface facing upward.)
Now, when I go to put the car in Park, sometimes the car does not register that it is in park, so the key will not come out. I am thinking it has something to do with this sensor that I put on the side of the trans. Is there a certain way to position this? Any ideas? I know a pic would help, I will see what I can do. Thanks

I found that if you tap the top of the shifter with your fist the light on the dash will go into park. Something just doesn't seem right.
Sounds like its the shifter, not the transmission.
I had this same problem with my old auto Accord.
The shift lever is in the correct position (park), but rather the shift **** button is not engaged (or, in this case is actually stuck).
Check that out, loosen the shift ****. If that doesn't work then I would try removing the **** and re-installing it.
Hope I helped.
