how often...
does your ac unit cycle? Mine makes that click noise and turns on and off like every 15 seconds. Is that normal or is it just my civic?

How hot has it been in your area, and how cold do you have the AC set to?
If you didn't know (I'd rather not assume you do or do not, so here goes), the clicks are the compressor going on and off. The compressor will turn on more often the cooler you set it. So, 15 sec cycles isn't all that abnormal.

yeah i knew it was the compressor but i was just thinking damn thats super often. When it was cooler it still turned on about as much but since its been a little warmer i think its been turning on more.
My buddy said it needed to be charged and it will do it less. They hook the compressor up to this charger and it fixes it. I dunno what that means. He's a benz tech so maybe thats when benz does but i doubt honda does that.

If you have an 07 Civic, and you need the compressor already charged, then talk to your service department about it first.
Honestly, I'll turn my AC on for the drive home tonight and post about it later in here. I'll tell you how often it turns over for me.

Perfectly normal. The fan cycles pretty frequently when youre not moving.

And TRE_ would know since he's probably one of the few on here who has been exposed to more than just one or two 06/07 Civics.
For the hell of it, I'll still let you know what my car does.

The AC clutch is designed to cycle, if it stayed on it would build to much pressure in the system and freeze out your evaporator core or worse, blow a component, frozen core=no air flow, which is no good for you!
A good rule of thumb is to watch and listen to the compressor clutch cycle on and off, if it cycles on/off more than 6-8 times per minute then your running low on R-134, the number of cycles allowed changes based on ambient temperature but 8 a minute is about the norm no matter where you live.
Which makes one ask, is your AC blowing cold as normal either way?

It blows alright. I never have really had to crank it since it just now started getting a little warmer here in ca. I've only used it to like the 3rd click max.
But tomarrow before I head out to work I'll see how many times it cycles in a minute. good looking out everyone, i appreciate it

I ran it last night and this morning (it was 50 out, with windows down and AC blasting...brrr), and it cycled about 6 times in a minute for me. So, what, that's once every 10 sec.
