NON-SI OWNERS PLEASE READ!!
How many of you guys have either the Fujita CAI, Injen CAI or the K & N SRI? Is anyone having any problems with them...CEL's, bad idling, etc etc?
The reason I ask is cause I have an AEM CAI and I've had nothing but problems i.e. CEL's, stalling, idling problems...and yes before you ask I've done everything correct when installing it, no air leaks, disconnected the battery for 24 hrs and let it idle for 15 min after that, and still it just sucks. So I'm looking at getting a new intake system but I definitely don't want to have the same problems so if all you non-si owners could rate your intake systems I would appreciate it.
Thanks
you probably damaged the sensors when you pulled the oem box and installed the intake.
Replace that.
Or put it back to stock and bring the car to the dealership (check if the cel comes back with oem unit)

I've heard people have nothing but trouble with those things sometimes... AEM sucks for our cars... si or not
But type x could be right... the only way to know for sure is to put the stock intake back in and see if anything's wrong still

Trust me there was no damage to the senors...I took the greatest care when changing them. I've been a mechanic for over 10 years, I know how to do things right. And the CEL's are related the the intake itself...it's saying my A:F ratio is off.

i've been happy with my injen CAI...no stalling and no CELs.
idle has fluctuated a little more than i would like, as i come to a stop, my idle will go down to like ~500 rpm, shoot up to 1000 (not all the time but it tends to happen more at night for me), and then settle down to 650-700 when im at a complete stop.
anyone have an idea whats causing that? MAF sensor?
other than that i am happy w/ my injen CAI.

you don't think the MAF sensor has anything to do with A/F ratio? How do you think the ECU figures out how much "A" there is to add "F" to burn in the correct ratio?
from my understanding the Honda MAF is easy to damage being that there really isn't a shroud to protect it

true...but lets not go attacking people here.
i think there have been way too many posts on which intake is better, i think there should be a sticky about this.
go injen or fujita, is what i have gotten out of them, i have injen and i am very happy w/ it. go fujita if you dont want to spend the extra $ and you want some goodies that come w/ the purchase from what i have heard, dunno what they are though.

There's no reason to attack me...I just want other peoples thoughts on their own intakes

Yep... I got a free fujita bag and a can of NOS (the drink, which kinda sucks IMO)
Not to mention the quality of the product.

I understand that's how it was designed.. but it was designed that way to save money.. most manufacturers have used basically a "slice" of intake with the MAF attatched (probe inside) as the assembly, instead of a probe into the elbow of the intake arm.. It's been my experience that damaging those MAF sensors that are in a separate piece of tubing has been tougher than just a loose one in an intake arm.

^^I wasn't callin you out, bro... I was agreeing
and you are right about the "slice" of intake. That's how my celica and my buddy's jettas were.
The celica was a pain in the *** to install an intake. There was a diy on how to fab up the MAF to be able to use the intake without trowing a CEL...
