Default ? about airbag installation

Both of my bags were deployed and I'll probably be puttin the new ones in myself so...

1) Is there anything special steps to take so neither bag deploys while being put in (aside from disconnecting the battery)

2) I can clear the SRS light after installation correct?

3) I'll be doin the clockspring and srs module also...is there anything else I would need also?

I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks

your airbags deploy when the sensors in the front of your car are tripped due to a impact. your bags won't deploy unless your installing them while you drive and some how you get into a collison involving the front of your car. your srs light should turn off by itself. if not, look into your car manual.

Leave the battery unplugged for awhile at least a few hours to ensure it's cleared out

Don't forget about static charge from moving around on the upholstery...

This would be a good excuse to buy a Helm repair book. It's got pretty detailed information about how not to set the airbags off in your face. More than any of us can write in a board like this. That huge book will probably pay for itself in this one job.
