Looking for a place to fix a bent valve in Dallas/Houston
Im looking for a fair priced shop to do repairs in either Dallas, Houston, or College Station. I need a bent valve replaced, and i can not do the labor myself? Anyone have any recommendations? My engine is a stock b18b, so it doesn't have to be a performance shop.
Also what can i expect this to cost me im assuming like 700-800 will it be more or less?

oh yeah where would i have that done? and how much would it be cause it doubt that labor is less than taking the head apart to replace 1 maybe 2 bent valves
For 800.00 you could buy badass valvetrain and all the tools/supplies needed to pull your head.

I don't feel comfortable enough working on my engine, all I've ever done is put coilovers, exhaust, and control arms in on my own. I need a shop to do this work, the car is my daily driver and every project i have done in the past seems to always take longer than expected, and i cant afford to reassemble the engine wrong because some guide neglected to mention a step that is well know to a professional. Someone has to know a good place.
Learn to do stuff yourself, you'll save hundreds and thousands in the long run.
Plus you know if the job was done right. Not all mechanics know how to do that kind of work. Most are just just average joes working at a jiffy lube for minimum wage
. Its not even that hard replacing a bent valve. The hardest part is just getting the right tool to take off the springs and reinstalling the spring. The rest is cake

Find a individual thats local and knows there stuff, pay them 100 bucks to pull your head, then take it to a machine shop they will make the thing look like new for 150-200 bucks then buy a new headgasket and pay the person another 100 bucks to put them both back on. 200 bucks for somone to do that is alot of money but its still half of what you were thinking it was going to cost.
im talking to a few shops i think my course of action is gonna be to take the stock head off with the bent valves, and just put a completely new machined head on, or try and price out an Ls vtec setup(cost including parts and labor)

Ask 99slammedcivic on H-T he is in DFW area and is a real honest person. There is another in DFW area that maybe could help.
Go to the marketplace under regionals and in the texas section there is a thread DFW FS WTB. Ask around in there for good shops.
They would have more localized information for you.

I also figure that all the money I save by doing my own work I just buy tools. I already have a box and its full of wrenches and sockets, I was able to get an air compressor and now have a bunch of pneumatic tools.
Now I have gotten into buying the specialty tools that are required for some different honda jobs.
It takes time but I have made alot of progress in the last 3 years. As soon as I can build a bigger garage then parts washer and a bigger bench will be configured. All because I take the money I save and put it towards my tools.
