Who has a camera watching there car at night?
Just wondering if anyone is using one currently and if it makes good theft deterrent. I might be getting one on Monday for free so I might as well see if that works, to stop these s.o.bs.!!!!
theft deterant? a camera would not deter theft, unless you have a huge spotlight on it....in which case i think if they want the car they'd just mask themselves.
but, if you had lets say, the sloanman shield watching the camera 24 hours a day.... that would be a different story

Well my brother works for a security company, so I will ask him how much it costs for nonemployees, and how it works. Hopefully by Tuesday I will have it up and running.
For alot less than $200 this can be done. Even $100 with an inexpensive B&W CCTV camera. Also, running cables to your VCR and recording is a good idea

if you can't wire up your garage, ie live in an apartment you could always mount a wireless hidden camera
the apartment i live has a camera in the garage and after explaining to the apartment manager that if ANY car was stolen from the garage it would be mine he saw the light and agreeded to center the camera on my car

I have spot-lights (auto turn on when motion detected), video recording, motion sensors(which is hooked up to the police) and a huge alarm which can wake up the entire neighbourhood. All in my secured garage.
I have video surveillance in my parking spot currently.
In our new place, I will be setting up a video monitoring system that will run every night. Sometimes I feel like its only a matter of time

My neighbor has a camera in her window watching the whole street. It wouldn't stop tem from stealing it, but I bet we could use the tape to catch someone who did.
