Default Mother of all throttle response issues.

cliffys

d16y8, 176k miles, royal purple every 4k mobil1 filter
SRI w/k&N xstream filter
DC header/ 2.5exhaust, magnaflow muffler
OEM cat converter, upgraded ground wires
New dizzy, cap/rotor plugs wires, fuel pump, fuel filter, new throttle body, o2 sensor bla bla bla bla.

Everything cleaned and maintained like a pro. However I have a bogging, like no other sometimes. I thought it was an exhaust leak, partially it is, before the o2. Fixed that, a tad better, but still bad.

It was so bad, that I was driving @ 3k rpms, in 3rd gear, and slowly went to WOT, it took me about 5 seconds to get to 4k rpms, in 3RD!! The exhaust got really loud, the intake got really loud, almost like 2 very off pitched tones, which pulsated, but I didnt pick up speed.

I the let off the gas, and the car pulled forward like i got rammed from the back. Probably around 10% throttle. TPS is perfect, smooth and checks out. Fuel pressure is perfect, messed with timing. all the same.

However the crazy part, when I put the heat on the hottest setting, and the fan on full blast, the cars bogging issue is very rare, and have very good throttle response. Again this is no joke, I dont know if its something with the cooling system, engine coolant temp sensor? I dont knonw.

However I pulled apart my ignitor, and the resistance between the + and - terminals was 0.0, not 0.6-0.8. I heard this could be a problem?

Other symtoms the car has when it does this is'
sounds semi-wrx, but not fully, only at WOT. WOT is worse than 10% throttle, even in 1st gear, no joke, the sound of the intake/exhaust reacts to the pedal, just not the engine.

however sometimes I could hit a bump, and BOOM my throttle response is like a crotch rocket. this lasts for about 5 minutes, then I can take a hard right, and its back to hell.

Please help me, ask questions, i have done alot of diagnostics on teh car, NO CEL either.

ouch, yea i guess ill have to do that.

Oil doesnt seem milky, never loses coolant.

I just dont understand why the heater makes a difference, and why the power returns once a week to tease me.

Sounded to me like you are way overheating and maybe your ecu is reacting to that? I'm kinda dumb but figured I'd throw out a random idea

do you have a check engine light, sounds like a misfire/ignition problem

Sounds like you may have a clogged cat... I'm dealing with the same issue on my F23 swapped sol. Same exact symptoms. Mine normally will not do it when the engine is cold, but any other time is fair game. I've seen a handful of other cars do this with a clogged cat. I might have time to pull mine tonight to double check it, punch it out, or something... I'll let you know.
I've gone through all the same things you have. Checking tps for smooth voltage across the range of motion, etc. Talk about a pain in the but. And yes, when it does get power, it slams you in the *** like it's been in prison for 10 years.
Have you also found that you can let off the throttle and then tip back in and it works fine?

^^^yea, however I checked my cat, its mint. This is what happend.

Everything was going smoothly untill I actually hit vtec for the 1st time in a year, well I thought I blew the donut gasket. After that, the 4-2 to 2-1 part on the DC ceramic header bakeoff sold me started leaking. (probably from me not having the lower bracket attached and blew a flange crush gasket, good deal on the header tho, thanks bro)

Thought I fixed all this, but now its like i have negative vtec. I can take it up to 5400rpms and it slows down. Oil pressure is good, level is good. Everything pretty much OEM.

NO cel. I know its hard/impossible to diagnose, however I just want to know the relationship between the heater beeing on full blast, and the power.

Bakeoff is correct about the prision thing, haha.

NO CEL. also if your vtec isnt working, does this have anything to do with throttle response.
