installing brake pads
Hey whats up guys i need your help on doing my brake pads. I started the front driver side tire (don't know if this makes a difference). I had to use a clamp to put the bottom bolt on. Then i tried to drive and the pad is like i'm slamming on the brakes, its really tight on their the car would barely roll. But when it does its a bad sound. The pad is really on the rotor badly and i don't know what caused this or how to fix it. I tried searching but couldn't find anything.
it doesn't really sit firmly it kind of wiggles but theirs no other way, does this make a difference? and i tried putting it in like 10 diff. times and the wheel still doesn't wanna move. WTF!!

There should be no wobble. It should fit in there snug and the retainer clips should hold it in place.
This may be something you might have to take back apart and put together again.
Pics would help too...let us know...

get a buddy's car, if anyone of them drive a civic, and look at his and see how its put together. or look at the opposite side. get a haynes manual from your local auto parts store also. things like this is what you need to do b4 logging on to your computer for help. not being an *** but im giving you my advice......good luck. oh yeah and make sure its the correct pads.

Haynes manuels are garbage. i like the official honda ones better and i didn't find any help in that. And yes i know what kind of car i have when i go to honda and they ask what car your driving. But i guess they could have givin me the wrong parts.
yeah they could have. yeah haynes are garbage but if your having problems replacing your pads then the haynes will help you. just look at it closely and make sure everythings good and tight and im sure you will find the problem. its a honda design...simple and idiot proof.
yeah those pads look to be wrong, you should take them back. since there is so much space when you press the brakes it is probably causing it to buck on the bracket somehow. just a suggestion but thats where i would start, get another set of pads.
make sure its the right part, honda screwed me over when the gave me the wrong alternator belt, and sorted outed it out so i made them but me a new one
Just FYI, ive been into hybrid brakes for like 2 years and NEVER found an auto parts store with an accurate list. Example: The 91 Honda accord has three different shaped pads you can get, three. The odds your specific car gets the right one? at napa...pretty low. If you want a GREAT car manual, check http://www.helminc.com honestly this is THE best and will solve absolutly all your problems. it tells every single solitarty detail to fix your car, guaranteed.
Aright so i went to honda and i guess i got integra brakes thats why it wasn't fitting. I wonder what else on my car is acura.
