Default h22 obd1>h22obd2

Yes I did the search but could not find one for my exact problem. I have a 1997 prelude with a jdm obd2 engine with no crank pos senser. I do not have to go threw emissions where I live so that is not an issue. My car currently has all the usdm obd2 parts on it (harness, dist, alt, etc). I do not have the 97 usdm engine with the cps. The car did not come with an engine...just a trunk full of parts. I use want to use a obd2-obd1 adapter harness with a usdm or jdm p13 ecu so I do not need the cps. Will it run with the 97 usdm dist with the external coil? I have heard many different stories. thanks

well mine is a 96. but i had the same type of problems. if u put an obd1 motor in your car(without the crank sensor in the crank). u can do 1 of 2 things. u can just get an obd2 oil pump and hookup your crank sensor. and it would be fine. i was alittle short on cash so i just had a obd1 dizzy laying around. and ran the crank sensor wires to the obd1 dizzy. been running fine sense i did my swap in 2001. but i didnt run the wires from the back of the block. i looked up the wire diagram on the net and wired it from th plug at the fuse box were the wires come in the engine bay.

Didn't you have to modify your harness to use the obd1 dizzy. I have a jdm obd2 dizzy laying around but I would have to do some serious wiring to use it. It has complety differnent plugs. Is the obd1 dizzy you used an external coil? My friend has a 94 with a jdm h22 swap and it has a internal coil on it.

i used a usdm dizzy. but yeah u would need to use an obd1 dizzy. u would just need to go to the junkyard and cut a plug off another prelude(obd1) or an accord.

there is 4 wires on the plug. red white blue green that to the the tdc and cps. but there is no wire on the dizzy for the green wire on the plug. Is it needed? I have a jdm dizzy obd2 dizzy on my car and the usdm obd2 p13. I tried to put a obd1 p13 with an adapter harness and it would not run. It runs on the obd2 ecu but it will not go over 3000 rpm. The ecu cuts the engine out. Could this be b/c I do not have o2 sensers on my car yet or the green wire. thanks for any help

I just completed a swap from and H22A4 to a H22A. My CPS is running threw my OBD1 Dizzy but I am using my OBD2 distributor. The car runs great but I keep getting random misfires. Monday I will be putting a JDM P13 ECU in and I will let you know if it changes anything. Since you do not need to pass emissions I would make everything OBD1.

I am running the cps to the dizzy to but what about the green wire from the
top dead center senser? There is no green wire on the dizzy to run it to.

If the ECU will not go over 3000 rpm's it is in limp mode. Is there a constant check engine light?

What wires are you running to you CKP/TDC/CYP Sensors? You may have to check your connections. The Green wire should connect to the Orange and Blue wire coming from the TDC sensor.

there is no orange and blue wire on the jdm obd2 dizzy. After I swapped the plug to the jdm plug on the usdm harness the only wires that were left to the dizzy was a white, a blue and a red. on the plug to the ckp/tdc there were red white blue and green.
so they all got connected except the green.

I am looking at a USDM diagram and it says,
CKP= BlU/GRN TO BLU/GRN, AND BLU/YEL TO BLU/YEL
TDC=WHT/BLU TO WHT/BLU, AND ORG/BLU TO ORG/BLU
CYP=ORG TO ORG, AND WHT/WHT
I don't know if this will help since you are using an JDM dizzy. Is you harness USDM?

I just looked at my Dizzy, and hola ****! I have an JDM dizzy, I forgot that the dizzy on my H22A is what originally came with it. Does the wires come from your dizzy go
1. YEL/GRN
2. BLU
3. PNK/BLU
4. PNK
5. N/A
6. BLU/YEL
7. WHT/BLU
8. WHT

1. BLU
2. BLK/YEL
Let me know if this is what you have, it my explain why my P13 was giving me a constant CEL.

well if you have two plugs on a jdm dizzy it means it is a obd1. jdm obd2 dizzy like mine has one big plug.
