Default jdm ecu vs gsr ecu

I have a stock b16 but i had it runnig on the jdm ecu. It kicks in late but it pulls very hard. Now with the gsr it kicks early but it dont give me that pull i was getting from the jdm ecu. Which one do you guys think works better. I am asking people who have tried it.

What's a "jdm" ecu, all ecu's have an ecu identification code. What's the difference betweenn the two codes?

I.E. p70, p72, p28 etc etc.

Wierd... I have a JDM ITR ECu in my car right now (P72) and I used a USDM SI Ecu (P2T) to pass emissions and I felt a huge down fall with the P2T... THE ITR ECU just pulled and is frikkin awesome... However, the P2T kept giving saying my fuel was too rich ... I don't know

I dno't think there's any "JDM" magic involved. It's just two differen't ecu's with two different means of engaging vtec.

B16 ecus usually have a pretty harsh changeover.

Gsrs are known to have a milder, less noticeable changeover.

i understand but i am saying when vtech kicks in at 6 on the so call jdm ecu its pulls i can feel it. But the gsr kicks in about 4800-5000 rpm it feels like i am losing power and it aslo takes longer to red rev boot

is the ecu from the gsr chipped? i was under the impression that vtec kick in at 5800. i know mine does.

also keep in mind that the P72(GSR ECU) will run the car richer, thus making any transition feel a little muddy.

If you have a JDM B16, the JDM P30 runs the car like it should be run. If you have a USDM B16, the JDM P30 is pretty close but the hard to find USDM P30 would be better.

VTEC points
JDM P30 - 5625 WOT (5875 cruising)
USDM P72 - 4875

best way to go.... have the car tuned and set the VTEC point according to the power output read by a dyno.

use the ecu that came with the engine. by using a gsr ecu you're most likely losing power. your *** dyno is not an accurate judge of performance.
