01-02 Coilover on 04+
I bought a used coilover that was from totalled 03 coupe and I have 04 coupe.
But later I found out that the coils won't fit cuz my strut / crash bolt sizes are 55mm / 16mm whereas this one seems to be for 01, 02 suspension which is 50mm / 14mm (sry i am in canada, that's why it's in mm)
so I am basically stuck...is there anything I can do besides drilling the hole so that my bigger bolt will fit in? cuz that would sacrifice the durability of my coilover
it is KW Variant 2 if that would help in any way...thanks!
any input will be much appreciated.

ahh so you got one of the duds. even though the 03 models are suppose to have 55mm, alot of the 50mm from th 01-02 found its way onto the 03 for some odd reason. dam honda for being so dam cheap
fventura03 // so if I drill the hole, do I just spray paint the area where the hole is? What kind of specific spray paint do I have to use? Pretty much just anything?
Also, another concern is that the small gap that will be caused from drilling the hole could also result in wearing the crash bolt gradually.
Since the strength of the crash bolt is weaker compared to the actual body of the coilover, when the G Force hits and gives impact on the small gap, the crash bolt will wear down. Is this true?
Lastly, it would be better off asking a shop to do the drilling and stuff for me instead of my buddy huh?
I could expletive around with the exterior parts but I don't wannt screw up the suspension / engine parts...I am yet too young to die on the road. :D
Sorry about bunch of noobish questions. I am pretty sure this kind of thing could help out others later on, as well.
Cheers

All u need to do is spray where u drilled to prevent rust. Use a black spraypaint that doesn't allow rust. I use tremclad rust paint in black when i need to cover a weld/drill hole.
The crash bolt will be able to handle the load without a problem.
I would take it to a shop to get it done though, then if in the unlikely event of someone screwing up, you can blame them and try to get $$ back.
