From the drain plug? Oil filter put on tight enough?

No offense man, but it is pretty easy to find an oil leak. Get under the car, find the wet spot, go to the top of it, and you found your leak. Could be ablything from the filter, to the drain plug (most common after an oil change), or some gasket that just went out.
You'll know it when you find it.

when i got my Clutch and Fly installed Honda said they replaced the Gasket between then motor and tranny... it was leaking a bit on the inside, so i would never have known... but it was good they did that... but wow that would be a biotch for labour cost to just replace that gasket...

When you did the change oil. Did you put oil on the oil filter gasket. Or perhaps the old gasket was stuck on there and you now have double gasket.

Or maybe you put the oil filter on too tight and damage the gasket.

If Honda charged you to replace a gasket between the tranny and motor because it leaked oil, you got screwed. There is no such thing on the Honda motors because there shouldn't be any oil between the motor and tranny. The tranny and motor contain different oils, so if a tech at Honda told you they replaced a gasket between the tranny and motor, he should be fired.

Well two users have mentioned this gasket, and unless I'm just cheap and lazy, I have never seen/heard of/replaced/bought a tranny/motor gasket.

that is a very bold statement I hope you never need help from from a dealer.

if someone told me the seal between the trans and the motor I would assume the rear main seal behind the flywheel which is probally what was replaced.

You are correct that there is no gasket between the "bell housing" and the engine block but there is a seal that is under the flywheel.

not every dealer is out to get you.

and a b17 come on how popular is a that.
I work at a ford dealer and couldnt name all the engines that go back to the late 80's. that almost 20 years ago.
how would you like to be judged at your job without warning.

haha...20 years ago...if the b17 was made 20 yearas ago and the dealer guy didnt know what i was talking about i'd be koo about it...but how could you not know about the b17...it was made in the early 90's...i mean acura hires you for a reason right???

o and how popular is a b17...not so much but i've had 2 roomates with them haha. Also your from back east bro this is the west coast...the odds of finding a b17 here is 10x more likely than in WI...just pointing that out bro. Not trying to offend you or anything man, im just basing this on my experience...and other friends experience with dealer peeps...

good info on the b17 being more popular out west than in WI. I would have never known. I have seen one b17 here in the 6 yrs I have been playing with hondas.

but the main thread. rear main seal is between the engine tranny right? so a dealer replacing that when doing a clutch would be legit?
