detonation help me understand it better
how can i tell if my crx is detonating? its a boosted dohc zc tuned with crome pro. at around 4-6 rpms the car backfires a little but and just starts to bog down. would i need to get it retuned after changing the exhaust up a little bit? what does it sound like if a car detonates?

it was dyno tuned and an amazing power curve at 5 k. just out of no where today it started to act up but in first gear it acts just fine 2-4th is where it gets choppy. could it be my timing is off a bit? they guys at the shop said it didnt like timing when it was dyno tuned about 3 weeks ago. but i prob should just take it in there...i was thinking it was cause i used ampm's gas the other day when i usually use chevron. and i use nothing other than 92 oct. or maybe its my spark plugs? i should check thos now that im thinking of it.

its not pinging tho its more of a backfire. here is apic of the final dyno

I remember that Dyno...then maybe you are running rich and it is backfire "gas not fully combusting" that would also make it so that car bogs. What is the AFR?
I love that curve or a ZC

i cant remember what the afr was. but it was decent. every thing was tuned just right. but i guess ill take her back to the shop soon for another dyno tune/run and see what is up if it does not clear up in the next few days. and ill see if my brother can remember what the afr was on the car.
you don't have a constant monitoring of the AFR>? that is a biggie because it could change espicially depeneding on the FPR...yah if nothing else just have someone hold a cloth rag by the tail pipe and rev the motor...see if it smells like gas, my just be the car is running rich, thereby causing the bogging and backfire

ooops i think i just figured out what it was. think it was casue my # 4 spark plug wire was not all the way connected? just took it out for a real quick spin and it did just fine. and i know i need a afr gauge but funds were low at the time but i should have enough money for one now
and the FPR is stock but this summer lots of things are to be changed
like a bigger turbo pistons and rods and maybe a sleeved block
