Wuz up fellas, ITR guy from the caribbean here.
I am from Trinidad, West Indies. 90% of our cars are from Japan.
Last year I got the opportunity to own an '96 Spec ITR. I came here 1st and read some reviews and decided to get it. It was a battle to get it cause you can't get comprehensive insurance for sports cars here. After about a month of run around I got it.

The 1st owner let his cousin drive the car and he ran off the road and eneded up in a ditch. Only cosmetic damage though. Front Lights, front fender, tailgate and spoiler.
The car was considerd totalled since there is no dealer in our country to supply parts. It was sold as scrap, with 74,000 kms on the clock. The parts were brought in used from Japan. The front end is from a 98 Spec R (HID's). The Hatch is from a SiR-G (w/wiper). The Spoiler and tail lights were ordered from the net.
A 50 shot Nitrous kit was also installed.
I have removed the N2O kit and sold it (thinkin bout buying it back though). I have changed the tail lights back to original and got the '98 Spec 5 lug spindles, replaced the SiR-G Hatch with an OEM DC2R Hatch and Spoiler. I got a set of 6 CW EK9 wheels and 4 98 Spec CW 16's. Changed back the shift **** too.
Please excuse the quality of the pics.

I got the Stainless steel 98 Spec 4-1 header and I replaced the entire B' pipe from a 5Zigen Fireball catback and replaced it with custom 2.5 mandrel bent piping. Yes the car got louder.
I am currently getting 166whp and 117wtq on a bad tank of gas (that day I couldnt get my premium fuel) and using 20w50 oil
.
I did a 15.2 on a wet crappy track (now closed down)
What do you guys think?
Oh yeah, I didn't take pics of the new spoiler and tailgate yet.

Welcome! Nice car man... Hopefully you're cooler than the last Caribbean Type-R owner we came in contact with.
On that note, you don't think that Type-Rs were designed to go JUST in a straight line, do you?

I'm still looking for a front lip. Integra parts are really hard to get. Our stealership never even brought in an Integra. Also, our population is only like 1.3mil. I doubt they ever will.
I forgot to mention, this is one of 7 ITR's in this country. Some people don't even know what it is.
I'm even thinking about ordering one from the US, but we get taxed heavy for Imports.
I'll get one soon enough though.
Thanks for the comments.

Man, this car is great around corners. I don't even feel like touching the engine right now. The suspension is stock, and it handles very well. I wish the front springs were a little stiffer though.
I took it around our local track once and that thing was awesome. That is with 195 55 15 Michelin Pilots. I had a set of RA1's that I didnt use and I know it would have helped plenty.
There was a big legal thing for the track and we lost, so now we have no drag strip or circuit.
We do have something simillar to your AutoX called solodex.
I was getting a deal on 3 month old Apexi N1 Full coilover Suspension, but the lack of a track is really de-motivating
I really envy you guys, I have a cool car and can't do nothing with it cept beat up SR20's on the highway home from work.

nice car, 1 of 7? thats awesome, rareity (sp?) FTW
good job changing back all the parts to oem, in a place like your country those parts must be hard to come by, and cost a nice chunk of change at the same time.

Beautiful car, but why are you running 20W50 oil in a b series?
I realize the climate difference, but you should really look at changing the oil weight to at least 10W30 or original spec 5W30.
There are no benefits to speak of from using the 20W50, and, it also robs you of a few hp.

I used to use Mobil 1 10w30 oil until a month ago. But I used to burn 1 qt every two weeks; about every 900kms. The engine is at 94,000 kms, but not smoking or anything. The oil just disappears.
I switched to the 20W50 thinking that my rings were bad but the oil still disappears and still made 166whp on crap gas. I am thinking valve seals seeing that the car was parked for two years before I bought it.
I say I'll use the 20W50 till my 100K service and change all the seals in the head. I'll try to do a compression test this weekend.
As for the brake light in the spoiler; I have since changed the entire hatch+Spoiler back to OEM, just haven't taken any pics yet.
Last post for the day, you guys enjoy ur evening. I think I'll hit the beach tomorrow!
