HELP ON CLUTCH INSTALL!!! PLZ
I have an ef with a d16 motor and im planning on changing the clutch.
Right now my clutch is adjusted all the way, and it seems to be slipping just a little bit.
I just bought an exedy stage 1 or an oem replacement clutch with a pressure plate and throwout bearing for 40 bucks, but i recently just started messing around with hondas so i want to learn more about it and do my own work to my car so i can learn along the way....
I have a friend that could help me do it because he knows a lot, but for y'all that are reading it would really help if you could kick me down with some info, or tips to make this a good experience for me and my ride and myself... cuz im tired of goin to the mechanic and getting charged all the white people on green when i know that theres something i can do myself...
but info on my setup.... It's a:
EF 4door with a D16 motor, Si tranny
heres what the clutch looks like.... if anyone can get back at me by today maybe... it would mean a lot, cuz i got some major drivin to do.... thanks

I don't know what kind of info you're looking for. Get a helms manual and it walks you through it step by step. Get your flywheel resurfaced too.
I wanted to know how to prep for the install. like do i have to clean anything, you said i have to resurface the flywheel? how do i go about doing that?? I just want the clutch to be smooth when i put it in... I took it to my mechanic and he told me that those little springs make noise and if there are some movement in them that i will hear them.... whats a helms manual?
You have an EX?
Ok... a Helms manual is the factory service manual (FSM) and you can order one at http://www.helminc.com. It's essential for stuff like this, at the very least get a Haynes manual from a local parts store.
Here are some guides that will help you. They are for a CRX, but it's exactly the same thing.
How to remove your transmission.
Changing the clutch and flywheel.
and while you're at it, you might want to change the rear main seal, it probably needs it.
Set aside a whole day if it's your first time, it can take many hours. It's also helpful to have someone help you. Read those guides and you'll be all set, it's really not hard to do.

did nobody else catch the part where he said he has the clutch adjusted all the way?!?! thats why its slipping, you need to loosen the adjustment cable if i remember correctly you supposed to have a 1/2 inch of slack measured at the release fork. somebody correct me if im wrong. and please try that before you get in over your head replacing a clutch
