Default Should i purchase this h22 civic ?

I have a friend getting out of the tuner scene and on with his life.

He has a Clean Title , 93 Civic hatchback Si with a H22a swap

He says probably around roughly 90k on the motor , the body has 180,000 miles.

The Only i picture i have of it on my phone.

It has the H series to civic Hasport mounts, great clean install.

Runs, but needs a p30 ECU he says? its running a stock p28 , new 02 sensor, some vacuum hoses ran correctly, new axles, new hood, new ignition barrel (THIEVES OUT THERE!!)

Hes willing to let it go for me for $1000 Cash. No joke. i know its a steal. but i dont know if i should eject my integra for this project car?, buy it have it on the side to work on , then my integra will be neglected, buy it and sell it for profit?, buy it and transfer the H to my integra and part the rest out?

My situation is like most of you probably.
Student, full time job, bills, girlfriend , girlfriend bills, and a drive within us that causes us to <U></U> Eat Sleep Honda !!

Please help me out what would you guys do. Or who would like to purchase this car? maybe if i pick it up?

the h22 civic is a deal for 1000. but the question is did he drive around on the p28 because he is basically starving the car of fuel running a 1.6 liter ecu for a 2.2.

go for it . if u have a gand to spare take it and work on it little by little and by middle of summer ull have ur self a sick little hatch for a nice weekend car. and if i bought it for a g id keep the teg stock and keep using it for a DD. Or buy it and sell im sure if the body is good you can probably flip it for a quick 2 grand or so and make a nice profit to put towards ur bills or school or what eva.

I like this idea... you could easily make all or close to the money back you paid for the hatch if you part it out after. Drop that H22 in the LS and that would be a nice ride, just take off that muffler

I would buy it If I had the money. It would be a good 2nd car.

If that's not chipped it's got a lot of potential.

There's a lot of options there for you between those two cars.

Thank you for all your replies.

Yes the muffler on my integra was cheap , and it shows it.

The reason its using the civic is using a p28 right now is because thieves stole the h22 civic. Took his MSD, p30 ECU, along with other things.

Then he had got a p28 , he said he was going for a chip down the road with it.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by turbociviccoupe &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">the h22 civic is a deal for 1000. but the question is did he drive around on the p28 because he is basically starving the car of fuel running a 1.6 liter ecu for a 2.2.</TD></TR></TABLE>

With the 02 sensor wires , the sensor is not connected, this would cause it to run rich right? even with the 1.6ltr p28 ecu?

He did not drive the car with the p28 much, only around his neighborhood. Reason why is because when he got the car back from the thieves, he had to buy a new MSD ignition set, couldnt find a p30 so went for a p28. and now for some reason IT WILL NOT REV PAST 4,000 RPM ??!?!?.

Heres what i think.

Since the 02 sensor is not hooked up (Burnt wires), causing the car to run super rich, wrong ECU, MAP sensor not hooked. Is causing the ECU to run in LIMP MODE, setting the rev limiter down to 4,000 to prevent engine damage?

Anybody have input on this?
Could it be the MSD setup?

When i drove the car a few days ago. A bunch of dirty black smoke poped out the muffler for about 5 seconds (Running Rich, 02 sensor?). So dirty in fact that his sisters white TL , which was parked behind him had turned black on one side .

Anybody have this unknown source rev limiter , or have any input on this?

He said when it used to run good, he never hooked the map sensor up for i dont know waht reason, but it still ran great, only idled weird.

If i buy this car you think itll be an easy fix?

running on the p28 is not a problem..NO MAP and NO O2 is a different story. you need to have the computer chipped and you won't have any problem. im running a chipped p28 on cromepro with built type s h22 in a civic and i don't starve a bit. Those motors are stout. Be warned, not many people who go to H or K series ever want to see a b series again, not that its not a good motor, but the fact that the displacement and torque makes a good bit of difference. I will buy that civic if you don't
