VSA = Vehicle Stability Assist.

It helps correct driver error and help prevent the car from losing traction and sliding out. Also like traction control in a sense where it will cut fuel off if your tires start spinning, so VSA = bad if you're trying to launch.

i can barely chirp second in my car, and i KNOW how to drive it. I do have the HPT package tho, with the Pilot PE2's. My friend who just bought an 07 TL Type-S with all seasons easy spins 3rd. So i know if I had all seasons i could EASILY spin second, prob chirp 3rd. So i guess its a matter of tires and driving....

Congratulations. I never said you couldn't do that. Try SPINNING through any gear. You may chirp the tire, but after that it will quickly cut the fuel and stop it. Again, congrats.

in my CRX, poping the clutch was a no no. cause alls u would do is spin the wheels all the way to 5th gear and never move a inch. u had to ease, quickly into it.

New si.....You found out the hard way. Turn the VSA off, and pop the clutch around 4-5 grand to get a nice launch in this car. otherwise the launch isn't really enough to get out the whole fast enough.

It also works as an anti-spin-out assist. I saw this video about ESP (basically the same as VSA) and it made a lot more sense to me.

Lol are you serious? Without slicks, all you're going to do is spin. 5k RPMS is way too high to launch. Popping the clutch is also a no-no, you have to feather it out, or once again, spin city.

word. i said 4-5....... but yeah 5 might be a little high. im pretty sure youll be safe at 4.

for me anyways. my tires are acually pretty decent, i spin a little of course, but it grips fast and im on my way.....
if i dont pop the clutch at all, i dont get out as fast, lags a little.

Even still, if you pop the clutch at 4, it's going to be a horrible launch. BTW, this is all assuming stock car, so stock tires as well. With my SI and stock tires, I get a bad launch at just 2500-3000, with a bit of spin (more than I'd like) and then a take-off
