I HVAE A 2000 CIVIC SI AND I PUT A 1ST GEN B16 BUILT MOTOR IN MY CAR AND IT WONT START I CHANGE THE STARTER, DISTRIBURTOR AND IT DOESNT HAVE THE CRANK SENSOR ON THIS MOTOR LIKE IT DID ON MY STOCK B16A2 ! SO THAT MEANS I NEED A OB1 ECU YOUR RIGHT ?...I THINK THATS THE REASON SO PLEASE HELP AND LET ME KNOW

 

I ALSO FORGOT TO LEAVE OUT THAT I WAS RUNNING A TYPE R ECU IN MY LAST CAR AND THATS THE ONE IM USING NOW AND STILL WONT START AND I TRIED THE OB1 P30 AND STILL WONT START...

Are you getting spark? is your fuel pump priming?

 

YES PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR caps lock. spark and gas is the first thing to do. If getting both of those then get the ECU checked.

 

sorry about the caps kay i found out my ecu is good its get no spark at all its not even cranking over ! could it be my relay ?...it has power it crank over the first time then something smoke up and it was my started so i bought a new one and it wont even crank over at all now so what should be the next step

 

oh, Em. Try replacing your distributor cap?

Check your codes. By the way, what happened to your B16A2? is it available?

 

i have just the block im building another mote gsr block with b16a2 head bore and hone over size pistons ect.."poorman Type r" so all i have is the block...so what really could cause my car no to crank over

 

ok here is a stupid question have you hooked up the starter solnoid wire ? also are you getting a signal from the key in the crank position ??
what does a distributor cap have to do with a no crank problem ??
