Question about TL-S headlights and 5th Gen Accord headlights
This may be a shot in the dark, but here it is.
Ok, this is what I was thinking. The 2000-2003 TL's that come with HID's don't have your normal HID projectors in them. They have your standard reflector but are rigged differently to still have the cut off needed for HID lights. I was wondering if it would be possible to somehow modify the 5th gen Accord headlights to house the reflectors from these TL's. That way you don't have to spend all the money for a projector retrofit but still have the cut off for the HID lights. Because currently, I have HID's on my car but just in the standard headlight with the regular halogen reflector and don't have the money to spend on a retrofit. So if anyone has any clue about this, please let me know. I'm very interested in trying to tackle this but want to see if anybody else has thought about this or has done any research. Thanks.

I have heard the black housing headlights create more of a concentrated beam, as there is less reflective material inside the headlight. I imagine this still will not create a crisp cut off.
i'll try to find the thread, but i remember someone retrofitting the oem hid reflectors out of an acura into 6th gen housings...with a little effort i'm sure they can be made to fit into 5th gens

Well, I've been studying the H4 shields from Casper's and I'm wondering if I can just get a small sheet of aluminum and bend it somehow and make my own. Inputs?

******* awesome. I just went over to my friends house that does a lot of custom metal work and **** and he said it should be possible. I'm going to search for that write up. If you specifically know what to look for to find that thread, I'd appreciate it a lot if you could find it. Thanks man!

Just finished doing it!
What I did:
Sheet of aluminum
Cut little rectangles out to fit the bulb
Bent the aluminum so it would kind of "form" around the bulb.
Used metal and plastic epoxy, glue the piece of aluminum to bulb
Wait for it to dry, stick the bulb back in, plug it in, and turn them on
Note: remember to put the aluminum on the bottom side of the bulb
I'm going to take some pics tonight.

Yeah, sorry bout that. That night when I finished, it got really foggy so I couldn't really tell how well they still lit up the road. I'll try to get some tonight and then I'll post 'em. It hasn't been getting really dark up here until about 9:00-9:30 though, so it'll be a while.
