Thats not your knock sensor, and the J represents a link to another page. Look for a J on different page to see the entire circuit.

All Yellow/black wires connect together at the junction connector on the drivers side shock tower.

The knock sensor only has 1 shielded wire from the ECU directly to the sensor. The knock sensor doesn't need to be powered as it's a microphone and generates it's own voltage. This voltage is then read by the ECU through the shielded wire and interpreted accordingly...

Oh man, this could be the reason why I'm getting a knock sensor code (code 23). I bought a roll of shielded wires from radioshack. Hopefully with this wire the code could clear.

Hey 94eg, can you give me your opinion on my situation?
USDm obd1 p72 ecu with obd2 gsr motor = knock sensor code.
USDM or JDM obd2 p72 ecu with obd2 gsr = no knock sensor code
None of these ecu are modified, at least not that i know of. THANKS

Thats a tough one. You might want to check all your wiring when you move them from OBD-1 pins to OBD-2. I really can't say as I've only used P28 ecus specifically because they don't have knock. I will be facing this issue coming up though when my friend gets a B16 with a P30 ECU. This won't be for a couple months though...
