Default Wheel and Tire fitment?

Quick question, I ran a search with no results.
Would the stock 215/45 summer tires fit on a set of 17X7.5's?? or would you have to step it up. I know a lot of things, but im a wheel and tire noob. thanks

offset is key brotha. too low of an offset and your wheels/tires will rub the fender.
too high of an offset and it may hit/rub suspension components and may not clear your brakes.

The 215 will fit on a 7.5 wide wheel. Like IGotNoSwap said though it is about the offset. Stock is +45

An offset of +48 also allows you to run a wider tire if thats what your looking for.

If you are going to use 7.5 inch wheel you can use a 215 no matter the offset. Offset changes the relationships of the center of the wheel and the mounting surface. + moves the mounting suface towards the front of the wheel and - moves it towards the rear. - is usally used in rear wheel drive aplications though.
