i have the boost guages , now how do i do the electrical? i have an alarm that is wired in right near where my boost guages will be mounted on the windshield/door brace in the driverside above the dash......... i know the plastic pops off and the wires are then exposed, any idea on what wires hook up to what? or a write up with pics would be nice.....

Are guages really that hard to hook up? You usualy have one that will go to a switched 12v most of the time it is red, then you have ground which is usualy black, then sometime you have a "illumination" wire (depending on the gauge) that hooks up to your lights so it can tell when your lights are on and adjust the guage brightness accordingly. Next you will have another wire that recieves the info for whatever the guage is for, with an AF guage you would hook that wire up to the o2 sensor.

edit: my giberish sucks so here it is straight from the autometer website you lazy bastard

• Red = key on power supply. *Must stay powered on during cranking of starter. Failure to do so may cause mis-calibration of gauge

• Black = common chassis ground

• White (Cobalt, C2, Lunar, & NV series only) = dash lighting power

• Gray, Purple, & Black = communication between sender and gauge

there's so many threads on these specific gauge installs its not worth my time if you can't find time to look for them. plus if you can't figure it out with the instructions they give you than dont bother. did u boost your car cuz i would be afraid of the setup if you can't put in gauges. narrowband gauges are pretty much useless btw

Narrowband O2 AFR gauges are not at all useless. I just replied in detail about this in another thread 15 seconds ago.

If you can't tell us your year/model then how can we give you specific info?

You were right about half your reply, it works just as good as other gauges but when it comes down to it a narrowband doesn't tell you much at all, why not just get a warning light just like oil and water if your just worried about leaning out...

narrowbands are useless because they do not give you any relevant information. it jumps to rich when you are on the gas..duh...and lean when its off..duh. it doesn't give you any information to work with.

go to apexi's site to find the pin diagram. its probably a white wire for the o2 sensor.

Its not a good tunning tool, that correct, but some people like to know if there car is going to lean out, but cant afford a wideband. If your on the gas hard and the gauge turns red are you going to keep going or let off the gas? It could mean life or death of a motor.

if you're leaning out enough to blow up a motor on throttle than you probably wouldn't need a gauge to tell u that your car isn't running right.
