I thought the '96 Accord LX all had at least 15" wheels, no?
Should we assume you have 14" wheels from some other vehicle, and these tires are going onto those?
I gotta tell ya, there aren't ANY good summer tires in 14" sizes large enough for your car. (With 14" wheels, you need either 185/70-14 or 195/70-14.) Do you still have the original 15" wheels for it?

Your car apparently had 185/70-14 as the stock size.
You should get 205/50-16 tires for 16" wheels, or 205/45-17 tires for 17" wheels.
I recommend the Kumho Ecsta SPT, very good performance on dry roads and excellent in rain, last a long time. $73/tire in 205/50-16, $91/tire in 205/45-17 at the Tire Rack, less the $40 rebate through June 2.
