Default molded body kit

I want to mold my side skirts and my back bumper. I was wondering if I should fiberglass one layer over the crack and then bondo over it and then sand it down. Or should I just bondo over it and sand it down? I have seen people just bondo over it, but I've never seen them again to see if it broke or not.

Go ahead and mold it with just bondo...if you like cracks.

my bad for the misspelling. If i fiberglass over the crack, do you guys think one layer is good enough? or should i go more and then try to even it out with bondo? thanks

You need to do some googling on autobody. It is not easy.

molding imo is not worth it, concidering if your car is a daily driver that if you even so much as jossle the car your going to crack your fenders or worse flake the paint! body kits are a pita, before i sold my 240 i had the whole drift body kit installed, and it kept on cracking on me for stupid reasons, thank god it wasnt molded otherwise instead of 250 to repair the front and sideskirt it would have been over 1000 bucks to get the car repainted...those things are more trouble then they are worth.

looks nice right?

a couple weeks later..blah

take your bumper and side shirts off clean the top edge where it fits up to the car and the edge on the car. get some 1 hour epoxy and install them back on kinda gluing them together make sure to get everything lined up and straight let it set up then take you a grinder at the edges and cut slits up and down in both bumper and cars panel fill in the the cracks with a bondo that has fiber glass in it (tiger hair brand) shape it up after your done shaping the tigerhair prime with some surfacer fill in any low/high spots with a reg filler. reprime block it spray a sealer then paint. the side skirts will need extra support like sheet metal screws and you might want to add some sort of brace for the bumper corners.

All that is a lip molded on it. He wants to mold his bumper onto his car. Which would most likely crack and would suck if anyone hits his bumper it would be alot of work rather than just slappin a new one on there.
