well im looking to get a 03 r6 with 6000 miles. the thing is that it was rebuilt from salvage title. its kinda dumb because it fell over at like 5 mph cracking the headlights and scraping the fairings and they salvaged it. fairings werent even cracked.everthing was fixed except the front still has some minor scratches. but is it worth $4000 with the salvage? everything else checks out clean. i was just wondering if it was difficult insuring a salvage title. other than hurting the resale value is there anything i need to be aware of?

the other bike i was looking at was an 03 zx6r with same mileage and same price. this actually sustained more damage than the r6 but still has a clean title. the guy shaved off the turn signals for some reason and had a crappy paint job done.

both are mechanically sound its basically just the title issue.

any input on which would be a better purchase

 

To be honest, neither bike sounds like they'd be such a great deal. I wouldn't pay more than 3 or 3.5 for that R6.

 

you can get a clean title 2003 r6 for around $4k now.

i dont know all that much on CO titling procedures. i would call the local DMV to see what all is involved. here in MD the state police has to do an inspection on the bike. . .

although there are better options out there for you in the same price range, to answer your question the 03 r6 would be the better purchase.

 

around here it is near impossible to find an anything fuel injected for under 5k which is the reason im considering these
