Default first oil change

i literally just got finished with my si's first oil change. what a bitch. that damn oil filter was hell to get off. also, it's in a place where you can barely get your socket wrench in and once you do there's no place to catch the oil.

i was wondering if any of you had any tips on how to catch the oil so that next time it won't be so messy.

I guess use a plastic bag or a funnel into a can or something yea its a bitch to get 2 i watched a shop change mine and they used some special tool to get it off then it dripped all over the frame i said wtf. I dont know why they designed it this way but its something we gotta deal with.

Man I just looked at it today, cuz I was curious and it looked like a damn bitch!

I seen them change SI oil before though up at the stealer's, they got a special wrench and some kind of freakin special tube, I wonder how much they would cost

not sure where the drain bolt is on the Si but it do hear its in a shitty place. i would just have my drain pan handy and lots of towels in case of a miss.

on the filter problem, mine was a bitch to take off too.. haha do what i did and rip off the bottom of an unused mouse pad. you know the grippy part. then wrap it around the filter and its cake to get off. use it also when you put your new one on

waiting for my next oil change to be up so i can DIY for the R18s out there

Yes, the filter setup really isnt that great. However, on that note, something that is easy and fun to install is our exhaust system we just released for the Si Sedan. Its all vband flanges so it goes together much easier and much faster then a typical flange exhaust. i dont meant to thread jack, it just sucks that sometimes manufacturers dont think about the end user or DIY'er.
