2001 Civic EX coupe
i was just wondering whats the max tire size (i don't want any rubbing) for a 2001 civic ex coupe which has been dropped two inches from its stock of 6.10 inches? i was thinking 205/55 - 16. is that too big or will it cause rubbing when i go over a curb or somin?

They are 10 mm wider, 215 vs 205 mm.
The sidewall of the 215/50-16 is .5*215 mm = 107.5 mm tall. The sidewall of the 205/55-16 is .55*205 mm = 112.75 mm tall.
There's an FAQ topic stickied at the top of this forum with links to tire size calculators that do all the calculations for you.

The last number of the tire size is the diameter of the wheels. You have to use tires that are made for the diameter of your wheels. If you are still using the stock wheels on your car, you have to use tires in a 15" size (such the stock size, 185/65-15). You need 16" wheels to use 215/50-16 tires, and you need 17" wheels to use 215/45-17. Either of these sizes will work fine, but you'll need to get the right size wheel for them if you don't already have it.
