92 eg b16a2 swapped V-tec doesn't work
Hi I got a 1992 Civic SI hatchback with a 2000SI b16a2 swapped.
When I bought the car the Vtec worked fine but after a few weeks my cat was rattling and when it stopped I notice the car had loss of power.
When I redline it I don't hear any v-tec. I have a chipped p28 with no rev limiter.
I just changed my oil, and there is no CEL. Cleaned the solenoid. My exhaust rattle a little bit.
The car is BAR'ed when I got it so I was wondering if i had to change the cat. Could I use the regular 92-95 cat or I have to find a 2000si CAT and have a shop weld it on?
Any help is appreciated.

If it isn't throwing a code, vtec should work fine. I would get a rev limiter put on that ecu asap, b/c one mistake, and your motor is gone.
Check the wire to the solenoid, make sure it has continuity b/t the solenoid and the ecu...it could have just come apart or off at some point.
The exhaust rattle doesn't matter for vtec. I really don't understand the exhaust rattle's significance to this post...
