Default Antenna removal on 2000 Civic DX

I got a friend, says his antenna is broken off of his 2000 Civic DX.
I just need someone to point me to a post or if someone can explain, the removal of the antenna mast to reinstall a new one.

Says the antenna is on the roof. So would the headliner need to come out? Are their some screws up top, like maybe you pop off a plastic piece to reviel them or something? I cant view the car myself so im not positive.
Thanks.

There are two screws holding the plate on. Once you get the plate off it's pretty self-explanatory.

Is their a plug under their? Or does the deck have to come out to unplug the antenna from the deck?

I work on fords a lot, and with them when you pull the mast loose you can usually unplug it right their.

Pull the head unit, w/o doing so will be nearly impossible.

Beyond that just unscrew it, and pull the antenna cable out. Reinstall the opposite way. Pretty easy.

That actually isn't helpful at all.

The thread isn't but yes, the search feature would be the best thing for the OP to use...

The antenna mast goes down the driver's side a-pillar and plugs in near the driver's footwell. You shouldn't have to remove the deck or unplug the antenna cord from the back of the deck.

I guess if you can get behind the headunit with it in there ,you'd be fine w/o removing it. This is something I could never get my fat hands to do.

The only plug on the antenna is not on the back of the deck.

There's the radio, sub antenna lead, antenna lead and the antenna mast. In that order.

There is a plug between each piece. The antenna lead and sub antenna lead connect somewhere above the driver's footwell area.

Don't mind the wire shown in this image that runs from the antenna area to the rear window. That's '99-'00 sedans only.

That's right, some do have that little antenna wire.

I forgot about that. The civics I've been working on lately (92-95s) don't have that little "sub-lead."

I remember the older accords I've worked on, the crxs, efs, and DCs, do have that. I wasnt sure on this newer civic.
