The Ultimate Street Integra!!!!
... for < $6000.
Here's a challenge. I love red integras, but unfortunely my ITR is yellow and I dont want to repaint it. Plus, it's expensive. If you were to build the ultimate integra from the ground up and you have a budge of say ~$6000 how would you do it? I want something that can beat my ITR on the street and autocross and would cost much less.
Was thinking about RS integra with GSR swap or Vtec B20 swap, but i dunno...
Here's the rules:
(1) Must be a 94-01 integra (i was originally thinking EG hatch for light-weighed-ness, but i like the integra body way too much)
(2) Must be a B-series engine
(3) Labor doesn't count into price. I have time to work on it (and probably mess it up) myself.
(4) I also have some 16" Rota C8s with practically new thread on them at my disposal. You dont need to count that into the cost, but I'd rather trade them for some 15" lighter wheels anyway, which would maybe cost about the same price.
Ideas?

Buy a shell and put an h2b in it and turbo it.
Shell - $1000
h2b - ~$3500
turbo - ~$1200
Wheels and suspension - ~$1200 with some knockoff lower end wheels I.E. Rotas/falken/spun. (Or some tein SS)
Total 5900.
Why must it be a b-series?

just cuz I was into B-series.
FYI... the competition is a pretty much stock Type R (with Tanabe Sustec Pro S-S Type II coilovers on Falken Azenis with AEM intake).

Well with an H you don't have to rev to 1,000,000 rpms to get power.
You could also go ls turbo, gsr turbo, b16 turbo.
it's not hard man.
Anything boosted and built will be plenty fast enough for you to kill yourself.

you can piece together a turbo kit for far less than that. ive looked at old dsm turbos for like 200 bucks. just buy a "rebuild" kit and you replace all the seals and bearings. you can have someone weld up an exhaust mani and grab a side mount intercooler off a dsm. cheap horsepower.

A used turbo, a DSM turbo, a junkyard turbo.
Many people are putting down between 180-500 whp with cheapo turbo setups. The most import part of a turbo setup I.E. parts, are the manifold and turbo.
Piping is cheap and can be had on ebay for little. A rebuilt volvo turbo is a common starter.
And later you can always upgrade by buying a new turbo or a different OEM turbo.

http://www.d-series.org has a lot of simpler turbo setups.

seems like all the home-made turbo kits are for D-series. or ZC engines. I guess no one makes home-made B-series turbos?? Maybe it's best to start with a D-series after all for a project car since it'd be cheaper to build a turbo D civic thana B integra like i originally wanted.

Grrr....
Turbo is a turbo man. Turboing a b-series isnt' anny differen't than turboing a Ford f-350 turbo-diesel!!!!!!!
A homemade turbo/cheap turbo can be used to boost anything, the turbo manifold and piping just has to fit your engine bay and engine!!!

Wow you wanted to build a "street" monster and you couldn't figure that out or had realized how cheap it was to turbo a car!!

Someone breaking the "rules"....
Since your gona be putting it into a Teg I would boost a B then D series.

I pieced together a kit for my GSR and it cost me $1100. There was a mixture of new and used parts so I'm sure it could have been a lot cheaper if I used all used parts.

jrsc gsr, itr rear sway bar, tokico illuminas, and ground control coilovers
it can come out to around $5500 depending on the price of the gsr, but that setup should be faster than an itr in autocross.
