FS: YZ 125 central Pa
* Make offers. I am moving to NC soon and will not be able to take it with me
** Updated** with new pics I took this weekend. Also I forgot to mention it also has an aftermarket airbox and filter.
1984 Yamaha YZ 125
- 125 cc
- 2 stroke
- Liquid cooled
- 6 speed transmission
- Front disc/ rear drum brakes
- Aftermarket Answer exhaust system
- Aftermarket PSI expansion chamber
- Aftermarket newish front and rear fenders and # plate
- New paint
- Newish seat
- New spark plug
- New grips
- Will be replacing front pads
- Chain is 2 yr old.
- Rear sprocket is 2 yrs old
- Tires are 2 years old and have good tread left
- Engine top end was rebuilt 5 yrs ago.
- Bike starts well. Even after sitting for a couple weeks it will start right up with little effort.
- Runs very strong, no hesitations
- The rear wheel has a slight wobble. It does not affect handling. It was like that when I bought it. My best guess is a loose rear spoke. Does not appear to have a bent rim or bent spoke. I’ve been riding it that way since I bought it, it hasn’t changed.
- Previous owner put on aftermarket kick starter. I did not like it because the locking mechanism wasn’t very good, so it would swing out and hit you in the shin while riding. I removed it and have been bump starting it. I still have it to be put back on at sale.
- No major leaks. It will accumulate a small bit of transmission oil under it now and again after longer periods of sitting. I would guess a teaspoon or so a month. Overall the seals are good.
- Frame, swing arm, and forks are all in good condition no bends.
- Overall it has been a great bike, very reliable and fun. I have had no problems with it since I bought it, and aside from routine maintenance I have not had to repair anything.
- I also have the Clymer service manual for it. (included with sale)
- I also have a KBC motocross helmet size large in like new condition for sale if anyone is interested.
*Make offers. I am moving to NC into a development, so I will have nowhere to ride it. Also to note, because this is an off road bike there is no title for it, can write a bill of sale. Just FYI.
