Default Oxidation Repair

What products/techniques would work well to remove heavy oxidation spots on auto paint?

I use Meguairs Power Compound + a yellow foam pad and my Milwaukee rotary. followed by Meguiars Swirl-Free Polish on a white pad. then wax.

dang my oxidation is so bad that rubbing compounds are not taking it out.i can chip it off with a scraper..hehe

i think i'm gonna look for some ultra fine sand paper and gently scrape/rub it off.

what do you guys think and where should i get the paper i would need?

If you can scrape it off then there is something else working on your paint here. If it is chipping off it sounds like it might be some serious clear coat failure. Do you have any pictures of the damaged areas?
I would try using Klasse AIO, usually this stuff kicks *** on oxidized paint.
If you want a sanding recomendation I would say the heaviest you would want to go is 1500 grit. Follow it up with 2000 and then maybe even 2500 or 3000. My favorite is UniGrit from Meguiars.
Just remember though polish takes off some of the clear, sanding takes off a WHOLE LOTTA clear, so if you screw up there is pretty much no correcting it without painting.
Can you post a picture?

as you can see, it didnt really do much for the oxidized clearcoat, but the rest shined up pretty good. i could have sanded it off but why bother, the car is a beater.

yea its pretty much done. you could probably sand the oxidized clearcoat off, but its not worth it IMO. just get it repainted. I will say my paint looks ALOT better after I compounded it, even with the messed up clearcoat.

Yeah I agree with E-Rok, if that is what your paint looks like then it is most definately clear coat failure and there is really no fix for it other than a repaint. Sorry man thats a bummer

i tried rubbing compounds and 1600 grit sandpaper and this stuff wont go away!

lol i guess it looks a little better...i'm tempted to go and buy some spray paint and just cover it up.

what paint would look the most like my stock black crx paint you think..in a spraycan and where could i find it?

just a temp fix not trying to win shows
