Yea I know. I have good tires but I needed more traction I had alot of tire spin. Im hopeing to be in the mid 13's by mid summer with the hondata and traction.

Who's doing your tuning?

I dont have anyone in mind yet > My friend has went to Raceline in ohio but im not sure where I want to go > And money is a problem right now . how much should I spend on a good street tune.

Tuning is what will save you from a blown motor and pathetic times.
With a good tune you should be well into the 13's or high 12's.
Average street tunes run 100-150, dyno tunes $200 and up.

, upgrade the internals, up the boost to 10-12psi, and retune, you surely will get into the low to mid 13's. </TD></TR></TABLE>
he shouldn't even have to up the boost to do that.
High 13's are done pretty easily on n/a b18c1's.
I say leave the internals stock, and get a tune from a reputable tuner.
Run crome. it's free.

If he wants longevity and have it as a dd and track, y not invest in internals, or he'll eventually blow a rod through the block, he's already spent $$$ on a custom turbo setup, might as well spend money on internals, make more power and better 1/4 mile times and more reliability.

I think he can only afford to make it reliable as of right now. I'm sure he knows that upgrading his internals will make it more reliable in the long run. But due to his finanancial state, I was just recommending the most effecitive beliability booster.
A tune.

true, or with his financial state, if he wants to keep it as reliable as possible, don't up the boost, keep it where its at, or lower it to 5psi, till you can save up more $$ for internals and upgrade the fuel system for sure, then you can finally up the boost

forgot the tune! most important lol, cant run a sh*tty turbo'd honda with out a tune. then you'll be in serious sh*t. Hondata s200b or s300b, seems to be the popular choice, any standalone system will do fine, adjust timing, fueling, air/fuel ratio, etc.. Gotta have all the right stuff. Pays to play!
thats why I have another car thats factory turbo'd, dont gotta worry about custom tuning when you have a non factory turbo'd car.

I have upgraded fuel system it has walbro fuel pump venom 440 injectors . I think that after the tunning I will be happier with the car.

It will run better/safer and be much faster.

why would he need internals unless he is trying to make power that really has little use on the streets. 10psi on a gsr is cake w/ a good tune. and ya a 14.0 seems pretty low for what you have, get that thing tuned asap

Wow, yeah a rebuild would be in your best interest once you have the money.
Just do a full overhaul.
Provided you have a 2nd car.
Arp head studs, cams, valves, retainers, cam gears, pistons, rods, get it sleeved, new crank.

jeez you guys are recommending some internals he doesnt even need unless he's looking for 600whp.
a simple set of rods and pistons would do him fine if he's looking at internals. turn the boost up, get it tuned, and enjoy 300whp on a stock block.

if the head is in good shape i agree just do a simple rebuild or even throw forged pistons/rods in depending on budget...on a fresh stock block 12psi could be had reliably and would still work great for a DD
